Sources & verification

Partially verified

The specimen-based study explicitly attributes this date and physical group. Independent contemporary corroboration of the first-sale day and specialist examination of the physical stamp remain open.

Research notes: Five values (½d,1d,1½d,3d,4d) are attributed to 5 November 1953; the 2d to 20 March 1957. The study classifies sideways watermark type 4. Later 1957,1961,1962 and1963 printings differentiated only by shade are excluded from this bounded physical-type inventory. Printer attribution is supported by the contemporary Said account (printed p16), which identifies Bradbury Wilkinson as printers of these permanent dues since1925. This is a historical attribution; original production invoices and physical printing-process confirmation remain open.
