Sources & verification

Verified

Grech’s specimen-based Marian Stamp Album supplement 2, PDF p. 1, explicitly assigns line 12.5 to the four 2d Citadel stamps discussed. This adds the perforation method to the previously recorded gauge; no new printing type or date is inferred. The 1964 Canadian Philatelist study explicitly describes this denomination's diagonal SELF-GOVERNMENT overprint as reading downwards. This describes the 1948 overprint, not watermark orientation or a new printing type.
