Sources & verification
VerifiedBonnici records release of the first compound-gauge supply in July 1878. The 1879 supply shares the same structural type. Séfi also reports the reversed compound gauge; a reported reverse-orientation entry is now listed separately in the selected-variety inventory, with the unresolved comparison to Bonnici retained. The historic account lists the compound 12½ × 14 type within the thick white wove Crown CC specification. The 18½ × 22½ mm dimension is the reported historical reference for this halfpenny design, not a certified measurement of the illustrated specimen or a new physical-type distinction. Current date, perforation and watermark identification are retained.
