Halfpenny Yellow · Crown CC, rough perf 12½
Halfpenny Yellow · rough perforation 12½
The story behind the issue
A rough-cut perforation gauge distinguishes this Crown CC supply. Bonnici’s day-book research dates its dispatch to May 1868 and public release to later that year, correcting the earlier chronology in Séfi.

Sources & verification
VerifiedSéfi assigned the first rough perforation-12½ supply to 1865. Bonnici identifies it as the tenth printing, invoiced 27 May 1868 and released in late 1868. This record follows the later documentary study. The historical specification places the Crown CC perforation-12½ type on thick white wove paper. It does not distinguish a new thickness by rough versus clean perforation. The 18½ × 22½ mm dimension is the reported historical reference for this halfpenny design, not a certified measurement of the illustrated specimen or a new physical-type distinction. Current date, perforation and watermark identification are retained.
